The%20Countach%20is%20easiest%20to%20define%20by%20what%20it’s%20not%20–%20it’s%20neither%20a%20traditional%20hard-charging%20big-mountain%20ski%20nor%20a%20purely%20playful%20freestyle%20design%2C%20but%20somewhere%20in%20between.%20Without%20metal%2C%20but%20certainly%20not%20lacking%20in%20brass%2C%20it%20can%20charge%20easily%2C%20cruise%20effortlessly%2C%20throw%20down%20at%20the%20drop%20of%20a%20hat%2C%20and%20still%20play%20nice%20the%20next%20morning%20when%20you’re%20hungover%20and%20skiing%20with%20the%20kids.Sporting%20110mm%20of%20crud-busting%2C%20chop-eating%20European%20beech%20and%20poplar%20underfoot%2C%20a%20supportive%20raised%20tail%2C%20plenty%20of%20effective%20edge%2C%20and%20a%20big%2C%20rockered%20shovel%2C%20the%20Countach%20is%20burly%20enough%20to%20get%20anything%20done%2C%20but%20surprisingly%20forgiving%20–%20as%20tame%20as%20it%20is%20capable.Big-mountain%20athletes%20compete%20on%20it%2C%20while%20everyday%2C%20average%20skiers%20love%20how%20they%20can%20just%20get%20on%20it%20and%20go.%20In%20fact%2C%20everyone%20who%20skis%20the%20Countach%20seems%20to%20come%20back%20knowing%20exactly%20where%20it%20fits%20in%20their%20quiver%20–%20often%20replacing%20a%20few%20pairs%20in%20the%20process.%20And%20after%20a%20season%20of%20daily-driving%20it%20ourselves%2C%20it’s%20clear%20a%20lot%20of%20us%20will%20need%20to%20figure%20out%20what%20to%20sell%2C%20donate%2C%20or%20keep%20in%20the%20garage%20to%20gather%20dust.We’re%20all%20chasing%20the%20%C3%BCber-ski%20mirage%20–%20one%20ski%20that%20we%20can%20rip%20in%20all%20conditions%2C%20anywhere.%20One%20ski%20to%20rule%20them%20all.%20We%20still%20don’t%20believe%20it%20exists%2C%20but%20the%20Countach%20might%20be%20as%20close%20as%20we’ve%20ever%20gotten.%20And%20if%20it’s%20not%20a%20one-ski%20quiver%20–%20because%20remember%2C%20that’s%20a%20myth%20–%20we%20think%20it’s%20at%20least%20good%20enough%20to%20be%20the%20cornerstone%20of%20many.%20After%20all%2C%20it’s%20not%20often%20we%20get%20on%20a%20pair%20of%20skis%20and%20think%20about%20making%20our%20own%20collections%20smaller.Maybe%20you’ll%20agree%2C%20maybe%20not.%20Either%20way%20–%20we’re%20sure%20you’ll%20let%20us%20know.
