The cushioning is impressive soft enough to absorb impact but still firm enough to stay precise on technical ground. I found the heel to be exceptionally well-designed, keeping the foot locked in place when moving quickly downhill. The knitted collar does a decent job of keeping grit out and offers a touch of stability, though it wont replace the support of a higher boot.Grip is solid thanks to the FriXion Red outsole, which handled wet rock and loose trail confidently. The waterproof membrane has held up well so far in damp ground and shallow crossings, without overheating my feet.
