They provide an unparalleled amount of cushion, making them some of the most comfortable shoes to wear mile after mile; they are great on the trail, but I can attest they are also fantastic for the dreaded road walking sections of the route. I myself have walked over 30 miles in a day, over some of the most tedious road walking Scotland has to offer in these, and I was in much better fettle than my walking companions. The midsole is generous, as is the shoes sole, which is huge, and gives you maximum traction; in conjunction with the Vibram megagram, multi-directional lugs, they provide plenty of grip on all terrain.
