They are great for low-level hikes but excel over rocky, uneven mountain climbs. The boot’s upper is mainly constructed from a hard-wearing ripstop, but the lower of the boot is protected by a durable plastic film, with a tough rubber toe box to ensure the boot’s longevity. This is all backed with a Gore-tex membrane that wraps around the gusseted tongue to ensure complete waterproofness.My stand-out feature is the boot’s ability to lock the laces at the third Gromit. This allows for adaptable lacing for different foot shapes and configurations for different terrains, especially when ascending or descending. The boot’s soles are very impressive. They look untouched from my test walks, with no wear or nicks, so I’m confident in their longevity. The sole is made in-house at Scarpa and performs well in wet and dry terrains. Sizing can be tricky with Scarpa (or any European boot manufacturer); however, I usually take a 9, and the EU 43 fits me perfectly.
