Ideally suited to drier conditions they still have a DWR treatment for damp conditions. The 140D fabric is hardwearing and yet surprisingly stretchy so they can fit mid sized boots down to trail shoes. The shock cord that runs under the gaiter to keep them in place does a good job but they will wear quite quickly on hard rocks surfaces like the granites of the Cairngorms.
