There are 2 clips on the back of the pockets which attach to the 3/4 strap that runs up the shoulder straps on ULA packs. If you want to use these on a different pack, you need to have either a narrow strap or a daisy chain running up the strap to be able to attach these pockets. Pockets are sold as singles (one), so if you want a pocket for each strap, be sure to order two. The large size pocket is one inch longer and was made to accommodate larger sized phones. If you have a big phone, and you plan to carry it in your shoulder pocket, be sure to get the large sized pocket! Our VerdictThe large Ultra version (48g) has been ideal for my phone, sunglasses, and a few snacks. The ULTRA 200 fabric feels tough enough for repeated abrasion, and the front mesh pocket is great for quick access I often slip my phone in there without bothering to use the main zip. Attachment is straightforward on ULA packs, though it does shift slightly with heavier loads, especially when moving quickly.
