The Fireball Lite is an ideal midlayer for winter activities, but also a reliable outer-layer for climbing, running, fast hikes, or as something just to pull on when the temperature drops.The Fireball Lite fits closely to provide a good amount of warmth with the recycled Active Eco insulation, but the stretch fabric provides a lot of freedom of movement which I found perfect while bouldering in Autumn and early winter. The breathability of the outer fabric is excellent and there was a lot of airflow preventing any build-up of unwanted sweat particularly under the arms where with the Thermo Grid fabric helps wick away the moisture. This breathability works well for those looking for a lightweight thermal layer for winter running or activties of a high intensity, where reducing moisture build up and getting airflow is essential.Features wise Montane have kept it simple with two front pockets and simple elastic adjustment tabs at the bottom, in order to keep the weight down. The hood is also very simple with no adjustment, but fits well with a fairly close fit and no real need for adjustment.
