Our Verdict Mountain Equipment’s Womens Orbital Pants use Drilite Stretch fabric to blur the lines between hardshell and softshell with this stretchy and comfortable pair of waterproof pants. The Drilite fabric provides some impressive stats with 20,000 HH and 35,000 MVTR which would be great on a more traditional hard shell, let alone on something like this. The outer has a soft feel and provides a good amount of stretch that allows excellent freedom of movement. To back up the impressive fabric these pants there are two good sized front pockets that are over layed on the fabric so they don’t compromise the waterproofing. The fly and closure is one of the most impressive set ups seen on waterproof pants, especially at this low weight.
